Before the words:
The reason for doing this mod is entirely due to the fact that their hands are not honest. There is no problem with the original headset.
It's nothing but idleness. Then hehehe. . . This mod has absolutely no desire to improve any sound quality.
After decomposition of the original earmuffs and earmuffs fixing parts:
The original earmuffs and the fixed part are completely different. Only this thing is left. The earmuffs have no stitched parts and are glued together.
The hard plastic on the left is the fixed part of the earmuffs and was polished by me. . . Originally should be oval. Originally there was an illusion that it could be used without reconstructing it.
The sponge is quite thick, and the inner diameter is larger. This is a more critical place. Will affect the wearing comfort, how much bass and quality. If there is a need to use this mod friend, I suggest to try to find a large diameter and not too thick earmuffs. This will be closer to the original listening effect. 701 that kind of big, it should be better, but not 701 on hand, so there is no actual trial. Or is the Sennheiser HD600 those oval. However, these headsets are more expensive earmuffs, not a good deal to change. And it is estimated that with these earmuffs, the MOD model needs to be modified with the installation method.
MOD MKI
For re-produced earmuffs, the original fixtures are mainly anchored by several internal cards. Since I plan to use prototype earmuffs, it doesn't matter if the fasteners can rotate. The card slots are not strictly made according to the original position. If you need to use oval earmuffs, it is necessary to make the rotation limit.
Print it out and put it on. The AKG-HD271 earcups are removed.
It looks like this, I feel that the degree of completion is not bad. However, after going home to wear and audition, I found quite a few problems.
1, more bass, sly, not the original kind of relatively fresh feeling.
2, comfortable to wear, chuck. Originally I only needed to pull the head beam to the 3.5 scale. This mod is pulled to 5 to get the earmuffs in place.
Replaced with the old earmuffs of the already disgusting DT880, this earmuff has a relatively large inner diameter, and after years of use, the sponge is relatively flat. After replacing the earmuffs, the sound becomes more refreshing. However, it felt like listening for a long time. After listening for half an hour, I still felt a bit tired. It is not too much to remember that the 9500 was originally awkward, because it is more than HD242. The bass is more refreshing than the earmuffs.
MOD MKII
The next day he played another one, thinking that it might be that the MKI's earmuffs are a bit high, but they can be lowered to make the ear as close to the pronunciation unit as possible. By the way, improve the chuck problem.
The height of the two is about 5MM less. However, in actual use, the difference was not great. Instead, I found a kettlebell to press the two earcups for a day. After flattening it, I felt comfortable.
MKII is like this, the side of the earmuffs is rolled in. The appearance of the last time is better than listening to the sound and the wearing effect is not much different from the MK1. After the earcups are pressed, it is slightly more comfortable.
Temporarily come to an end:
The entire MOD has come to an end temporarily. If you want to talk about listening and wearing effects, you should still be better with the original earmuffs. Only the installation method is very unfriendly.
