[Top 15 global semiconductor supplier rankings released in the first quarter of 2018, Samsung Electronics continues to occupy the top] IC Insights, the market research organization, released the top 15 semiconductor supplier rankings in the first quarter of 2018. Samsung still surpassed Intel and remained at the top name. The 15 companies include a pure wafer foundry (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing) and four fabless companies. If it does not include pure foundry companies, MediaTek will be ranked 15th and sales in the first quarter will be 1.696 billion U.S. dollars.

The top 15 suppliers saw a 26% increase in sales in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the first quarter of 2017, and Samsung, Hynix, and Micron's three major memory suppliers grew by more than 40%. There were 14 companies that had sales in the first quarter exceeding $2 billion.

Because of the relationship between the production processes of these manufacturers, the sales will be calculated repeatedly, so the ranking is only the ranking of the sales of each supplier, not the ranking of the market share. Each enterprise product includes IC (integrated circuit) and OSD (optoelectronic-sensor-discrete device/optoelectronic, sensor, and discrete).
