Konstantin Grcic defines functions in human terms, combining formality with considerable mental acuity and humor. Each of his products is characterized by careful study of the history of design architecture and his passion for technology and materials. Known for the small part, Grcic is often referred to as the bottom line requirement but as a designer he prefers to talk about simple and clean lines.
The KGID office is located in the heart of Munich, southern Germany. Konstantin Grcic employs six product designers and a personal assistant. The studio covers a wide range of designs, from furniture design to commissioning of architectural projects such as construction. Spoken German , English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Herzog & de Meuron architects commissioned Konstantin Grcic to work with them on the New Parrish Museum of Art in Long Island, New York, USA. This project required the design of all the furniture and equipment in the museum.
Konstantin is currently developing a cantilever chair for an Italian manufacturer, Plank, in cooperation with the chemical company BASF. The chair is named MYTO and is made of a high-tech plastic material called ULTRADUR High Speed ​​- as the founding of the project.
