Industry insiders estimate that the Japanese market for straight-tube LED lighting will have about 600 million replacements in the next 20 years. The standardization of the two specifications has been accelerated. Japanese motor manufacturers, led by Panasonic, promoted the "JEL801" specification to ensure safety. Panasonic has a market share of 50% in direct domestic fluorescent lamps in Japan, and LED lighting is also expected to maintain the same level. According to NEC Lighting, the products generally sold will also follow the specifications of JEL801 in the future. Mitsubishi Electric pointed out that from a safety point of view, it will be based on the JEL801 specification.
At present, the Japan Electric Ball Industry Association is launching the JIS standardization application operation of JEL801. In April 2013, it will be integrated with the Japan Lighting Industry Association, and will be re-launched by the Japan Lighting Industry Association. Some manufacturers believe that the reason why Japanese motor manufacturers are eager to standardize specifications is to try to establish a defense line for the Japanese market before the Chinese and Korean manufacturers who are competitive with low prices compete for the market.
