The battery-free Beacon reference design tool kit with a diameter of only 25mm is based on Cypress’s award-winning energy harvesting PMIC and BLE solutions for temperature and humidity sensing
Cypress Semiconductor has launched a new miniature battery-free sensor Beacon complete reference design kit, which can be applied to a variety of fast-growing Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The new CYALKIT-E02 solar BLE sensor Beacon reference design kit provides developers with an easy-to-use platform to design solar wireless sensor nodes that can sense ambient temperature and humidity and transmit data through Bluetooth low energy connections ( WSN). The sensor beacon of the reference design is only 25mm in diameter, equivalent to the size of a 25-cent coin. It is easy to deploy and does not require maintenance and battery replacement. It is an ideal choice for monitoring environmental conditions in smart homes, commercial buildings, factories, and agricultural production environments. The reference kit is now accepting pre-orders and is priced at $49.
It is estimated that by 2020, the WSN IoT device market will exceed 5 billion units, which will promote the deployment of more battery-free devices to reduce costs and maintenance issues. The installation site of WSN may also limit its size and available light energy, which in turn limits the area size, output power and starting power of the solar module. The new miniature reference design integrates Cypress's energy harvesting power management IC (PMIC), EZ-BLE PRoC Bluetooth low energy module and a 15mm X15mm solar battery, which can run with as low as 100 lux of ambient light , Lower than the illuminance of the warehouse aisle under normal circumstances. The kit includes a solar Bluetooth low energy sensor Beacon and a BLE-USB bridge and debugging board. Developers can connect it to a PC through the USB interface to receive sensor data and perform online debugging of the sensor Beacon. In addition, Cypress can also provide a CYALKIT-E03 expansion kit, including five solar BLE sensor Beacon, priced at 99 US dollars.
Kiyoe Nagaya, vice president of Cypress’s analog division, said, “Our solar sensor Beacon reference design kit has robust low-power sensing and wireless connectivity, is small in size and easy to deploy. It can be used continuously for more than ten years without any need during the period. Maintenance costs solve the biggest design challenge faced by the rapid growth of industrial Internet of Things equipment. End customers can use this reference design as a mass production model. Its programming is simple and optimized, suitable for a wide range of innovative applications, and can quickly enter the market ."
The CYALKIT-E02/CYALKIT-E03 development kit comes with Cypress BLE-Beacon iOS, Android and PC versions of the APP, allowing users to receive the data sent by the sensor Beacon, and visualize 2D/3D charts or output data. Cypress will exhibit at the Sensors Expo 2016 held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose from June 21st to 23rd, and showcase its Beacon reference design, PSoC, FM flexible MCU and Bluetooth low energy solutions, booth number 416.
The startup power of Cypress S6AE103A energy harvesting PMIC device is only 1.2uW-only 1/4 of the strongest competitor; the consumption current is as low as 280nA, so that the energy can be supplied to the target application's sensing, processing and communication functions to the maximum. The CYBLE-022001-00 EZ-BLE PRoC module used with PMIC devices is based on Cypress’s PRoC BLE programmable on-chip radio frequency solution. It is fully certified, small in size, and can also reduce the power consumption of energy harvesting system solutions. Improve ease of use.
HD Slip Ring is an electromechanical device. It allows the transmission of power and signals from a stationary to a rotating structure. It consists of an electrically conductive rotating ring, with one or more stationary contacts. They are called "stations" or "spokes". Electrical signals (power and/or data) are transmitted through the slip ring. This is done by means of brushes that make contact with the ring.
It is typically used where there is a need to rotate one object relative to another. Especially for passing power and/or signals from the stationary object to the rotating object.
Regarding it's application in conjunction with other equipment, we'll need high-quality production. Oubaibo uses components imported from the United States and high-frequency signal processing. Which has the characteristics of small size, lightweight, good insulation performance, stable transmission, and so on. Its unique design makes it an ideal choice for many applications.
