Shaded-pole motor

The shaded-pole motor is the simplest type of unidirectional AC motor, and it usually adopts a cage-type inclined cast aluminum rotor. It is divided into salient shade shaded pole motor shaded shaded pole motor according to the different shape structure of the stator. The stator core of a salient pole shaded pole motor has a square, rectangular or circular magnetic field frame, and the magnetic poles are protruded. Each pole has one or more auxiliary short-circuited copper rings, namely a shaded pole winding. The concentrated windings on the salient poles serve as the main windings.

The stator core of the hidden-pole shaded pole motor is the same as the core of the ordinary single-phase motor. The stator windings are distributed windings. The main windings are distributed in the stator slots. The shaded-pole windings do not use short-circuited copper rings, but are wound with thicker enameled wires. The distributed windings (self-shorting after series connection) are embedded in the stator slots (about 2/3 of the total number of slots) and function as an auxiliary group. The main winding and the shroud winding are at a certain angle in space.

When the main winding of the shaded pole motor is energized, an induced current is also generated in the shaded pole winding so that the stator pole is rotated by the magnetic flux and the uncovered portion of the shaded portion in the direction of the cover portion.
