Recently, a patent document of Korean LG Corporation was exposed.
Patent documents show that LG is likely to launch a smart phone with a foldable display in the future. More crucially, the display that LG intends to use is not only foldable but also transparent.
From the point of view of the patent document, LG's foldable display looks like a book, and the left part appears to be a transparent touch screen that can clearly see the finger on the back of the panel. In addition to displaying multimedia information, the panel can also display its own multimedia information. Controls the display of the right half. Perhaps for the sake of display quality, the right part does not use transparent design.
In fact, with the continuous development of the display screen industry, various high-performance OLED display screens and curved screens have appeared one after another. The flexible and arbitrarily curved screens are no longer new, and even transparent display screens have already appeared.
As early as September 2009, Ericsson’s cell phone division, which had not yet been acquired by Sony, had introduced a transparent screen mobile phone to consumers, modeled as Xperia Pureness. At that time, the phone could only display black and white images. Subsequently, in 2011 and 2012, Lenovo and Samsung have also launched similar products with a transparent display.
However, due to the transparency of the screen and the inability to integrate more opaque components, most of these products are simple functional levels and cannot achieve more complex functions.
