In the classroom, the virtual world can help students experience and learn history, science, and culture in an unprecedented way. In order to take advantage of the important guiding role of virtual reality in visual education, Oculus today announced the distribution of high-performance wired Rift headsets and stand-alone Go headsets to educational institutions around the world, starting with Seattle in the United States, Taiwan, and Japan. Oculus plans to put head-mounted devices in libraries, museums and schools in these places. The purpose is to help train teachers and other teaching and research personnel to use virtual reality equipment, and to better improve the virtual reality technology in the classroom from the feedback of these use.
In China, Oculus and the Taiwan Network and Electronic Commerce Industry Development Association have cooperated to allow the public to use virtual reality equipment to watch exhibitions and conduct visual learning in libraries and museums for free. In Japan, Oculus focuses on the application of virtual reality devices in online education and distance education.
