Summary:

working principle

The power supply design uses the TOP259EN device. The TOPSwitch-HX product family integrates a 700 V MOSFET with a multifunction PWM controller in the same device. The optimized combination of switching MOSFETs and integrated drivers with low switching losses allows the compact, high-efficiency 65 W notebook power supply to operate safely in a hermetic enclosure at ambient temperatures up to 40 °C.

• High average efficiency: greater than 87.5%, in line with the ENERGY STAR v2.0 draft requirements (measured from the end of the cable: 1.8 m, 18 AWG, 100 mΩ impedance)
• Operating frequency is 132 kHz, optional smaller transformer (EE28)
• The internal current limit is reduced as the input voltage increases, eliminating the need to limit the secondary side current to meet the requirements of a limited power source
• Accurate hysteresis thermal shutdown protection
• Timing overload protection with automatic recovery
• Conforms to CISPR-22/EN55022 B for conductive EMI
