South Korea's electricity consumption once again hit a record high

Cold weather in South Korea has seen a dramatic increase in electricity demand. On the 26th, electricity consumption once again reached a record high.

The Electricity Exchange said on the 26th that between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., the average power demand reached 77.99 million kilowatts, which is 820,000 kilowatts more than the 75.17 million kilowatts on the 18th of this month. It broke new heights after 8 days.

The power authorities said that at 10:44 a.m. that same day, the reserve power fell below 3.5 million kilowatts, so it issued a "caring" warning on electricity, which is the sixth time that it has issued an electric power warning after this winter.

Preparations for electricity below 4 million kilowatts lasted for more than one hour, and they approached midday before they recovered to more than 4 million kilowatts. The electricity “care” warning was lifted at 11.55 a.m.

The Electricity Exchange stated that when there is tension in the supply and demand of electricity, people are urged to keep the indoor temperature below 20 degrees Celsius. Try not to use electrical appliances such as electric heaters to save energy.
