Currently, white LEDs in the industry are usually made in two ways:
1. The three kinds of LEDs of red light, green light and blue light are mixed and packaged on one substrate, and white light is synthesized by adjusting the ratio of the three colors;
2. Apply a layer of yellow phosphor to the surface of the blue LED to generate a white LED.
The advantage of the first method is that a true white LED can be made, but the disadvantage is that the cost is too high and the area required for the package is large because at least green and red LEDs are used more than the second method. The second method has the advantages of low cost and small volume, but has the disadvantage of requiring a high quality yellow phosphor.
At present, most of China's packaging plants (including Taiwan packaging plants) use the second method to produce white LEDs, but most of the phosphors rely on imported products, because the aluminate yellow phosphor is patented by Japan's Nichia Corporation, we do not have Its own patented products, which is why Chinese packaging factories will encounter Japanese and German patent barriers when exporting white LED products .
Fortunately, Beijing Yuji Technology Development Co., Ltd., which was established in 2005, has recently successfully developed a new type of nitrogen oxide yellow phosphor and successfully obtained national patents. The patent breaks the current situation of China's lack of new and high-end white LED phosphor core technology, and successfully eliminates the bottleneck of China's LED industry development, because China's LED packaging factory based on it will be able to evade Japan and Germany when exporting. The patent barriers will no longer be plagued by patent infringement.
At present, phosphor materials for LEDs can be mainly classified into the following four categories: oxynitride phosphors, aluminate (YAG) phosphors, silicate phosphors, and barium magnesium aluminate (BAM) phosphors. YAG can only be used. Yellow powder, silicate can only make green powder and orange powder, BAM can only make green powder, only nitrogen oxide can make red powder, green powder and yellow powder, covering all color gamut from blue to red, A mainstream development trend in the future.
