Founded in 2000, Shanghai Blu-ray Technology Co., Ltd. is the first company in China to be engaged in the industrial production of GaN-based LED epitaxial wafers and chips, and is also the transformation base of China's national "863" program in the field of optoelectronics. A demonstration project for the special industrialization of new materials identified by the National Development and Reform Commission of China.
Vice President Wang introduced that the company's main technology is from Taiwan. Since the company focuses on independent R&D and innovation, it now has about 30 R&D and engineers. Currently, chip technology has mostly been developed by itself. Previously, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China had evaluated the LED chip manufacturers. The results show that Sanan Optoelectronics and Shanghai Blu-ray have won the top two of the mainland chip companies. At present, the GaN LED40A chip produced by the company can reach 100-110 LM/W, which is already in the leading position in the industry.
Vice President Wang gave a detailed introduction to the company's product application. In general, the company's LED chips accounted for 40-50% of the display, and the LEDs used for lighting were 15-20%, in addition to these two applications. In addition, LEDs used in other aspects reach 20~30%.
The company's representative chips for the display field are mainly GaN LED11B chips with a size of 11mil × 9mil (266μm × 218μm) and GaN LED12D chips with a size of 12mil × 10mil (300μm × 250μm). The product models are EB11B020 and EB12D020 respectively. They all have high brightness, high reliability, low leakage, long life, good wavelength and light intensity, and can be applied indoors. In addition, EB12D020 can also be used outdoors.
In the field of lighting, Shanghai Blu-ray GaN LED23A has been widely promoted and applied due to its high brightness, high reliability, low leakage, long life, good wavelength and light intensity, and adaptability to indoor and outdoor features. At present, the company's new semiconductor lighting power chip GaN LED40A chip has begun to be used in the lighting field for its good performance.
Vice President Wang also said that the materials required by the company are mainly sapphire crystal rods, mainly including Yunnan Lanjing Technology, Qingdao Jiajing, Chongqing Silian, and Henan Sapphire Crystal Rod.
85% of the company's customers are mainly concentrated in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta package companies, including Guoxing Optoelectronics, which focuses on LED chips, Lehman Optoelectronics, which is engaged in display, Hangzhou Zhongyu, which is mainly white light and display, and fluorescent lamps. Hangke, Hongli and so on.
Vice President Wang said that some of his peers such as Wuhu, Silan Micro and Sanan Optoelectronics will expand their production capacity and enter the LED packaging market. Shanghai Blu-ray will continue to focus on upstream GaN-based LED epitaxial wafers and chip industrialization. Consider the downstream chip package. But the company will consider the unique path to expand production capacity.
In 2009, the company had 13 MOCVDs, which have increased to 20 in 2010. In order to further adapt to customer needs, in June 2010, Shanghai Blu-ray and Hefei signed the “Hefei Rainbow Blue LED Project Cooperation Agreement†with a total investment of about 10 billion yuan, covering an area of ​​500 mu. It is planned to be constructed in two phases in three years. 200 MOCVD (45 or more machines) and supporting chip production lines. The first phase of the project invested 2.025 billion yuan, covering an area of ​​300 mu, and invested in 50 MOCVD production lines. It was built in August 2010 and is expected to be completed in December 2011. After the completion of the project, it will realize an annual output of 10.2 million pieces, an annual output of 200 billion chips, and an annual output value of 11.5 billion yuan.
At present, in view of the reduction or abandonment of investment in backlights such as mobile phones and notebooks by some large manufacturers, and the parent company Rainbow Group to switch glass substrates from production imaging tubes, the company will consider combining the business of the parent company Rainbow Group to establish a backlight module factory. , cut into the backlight supply chain, and become stronger and bigger.
Due to the good quality of the company's products and customer orders, Shanghai Blu-ray achieved good returns in 2010. The company's after-tax revenue was 220 million yuan and the net profit was 50 million yuan. Recently, the company has just completed a fundraising plan and plans to apply for listing in 2011 and 2012.
