Lite-On Technology said that in 2010, it participated in the “Industry Sustainable Development and Coping with International Environmental Standards Coaching Program†of the Industrial Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and promoted the establishment of the Carbon Footprint Announcement and the Third Class Product Environment Announcement of Gembell Optoelectronics Semiconductor Products, and the third in the world. The environmentally-friendly product declaration organization approved the “Environmental and Development Foundationâ€, the authorized verification unit of “GEDnet†in Taiwan, and officially became the world's first “carbon footprint declaration for optoelectronic semiconductor products and environmental declaration for the third category of productsâ€.
The announcement is based on ISO 14025 standard, ISO 14040 series standard, optoelectronic semiconductor PCR and PAS2050 standards.
